I have no experience in steckel mill operation and so I do not know what kind of quality problem is important. I guess there exists a problem regarding strip crown or transverse thickness deviation as well as ordinary hot strip mills especially in austenitic stainless steel production.
I believe taper crown work roll is the best solution to reduce strip crown and edge drop in austenitic stainless steel. If there is a demand/problem to reduce strip crown and edge drop of austenitic stainless strip, I would like to solve the problem by applying taper work roll. I am waiting the demand from steckel mill in the world.
